TALBOT COUNTY, Md. – Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot presented the William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award to the Talbot Paramedic Foundation. “The Talbot County Paramedic Foundation has done a fabulous job at advancing life support services in the county. I wanted to recognize them with the award,” said Comptroller Franchot.

The non-profit organization helps to raise awareness and provide life-saving training to first responders and Talbot County residents for decades. They also work to help get messaging out to residents about emergencies like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Comptroller Franchot says the Talbot Paramedic Foundation has been essential to the community during these difficult times. “It is a crazy, weird period that everybody’s getting fatigued by and are somewhat stir crazy. Thank goodness that we have organizations like this who remind us that we’re all in this together,” said Comptroller Franchot.

Franchot also says that he’s inspired to see local businesses stepping up to help support the Talbot Paramedic Foundation. The Comptroller says that each year he travels to each of Maryland’s jurisdictions to honor an individual or organization serving their community.
