Speaking to C4 on Tuesday, Comptroller Peter Franchot talked about efforts to promote the craft beer industry in Maryland, and his political endorsements.
Recently, those endorsements have included former state Del. John Olszewski Jr., who he connected with on pet issues like school air conditioning.
"I think he's going to, hopefully, do well. And I tell people I'm a Democrat, but I'm not a robot," Franchot said.
Franchot pointed to a notable non-endorsement of fellow Democrat Ben Jealous, his party's nominee for governor and other internecine clashes.
"I think it's important for elected officials and others to call out members of their own party when they're not acting in the public's interests," he said.
