Star Democrat: Franchot honors Cambridge restaurant owners

CAMBRIDGE — Comptroller Peter Franchot stopped at ThaiTalian Infusion Cuisine in Cambridge Wednesday, Aug. 15, and honored owner Antonio Illiano and his family for their special brand of authentic recipes they bring to Dorchester County.

ThaiTalian Infusion Cuisine, 300 Washington Street, opened in October 2016. Illiano was born and raised in Naples, Italy, and moved to Cambridge about a decade ago after working as a chef in New Jersey and New York.

The restaurant serves a variety of international-inspired dishes, as well as some local favorites. Want a slice or a whole pizza, ThaiTalian Infusion Cuisine has you covered.

The Italian menu features imported pasta sorrento, lasagna classica, baked pasta al forrno, spaghetti and homemade meatballs and more. The Thailand menu includes Pad Thai, stir fried with seasonal local vegetables, Pad Ka Prow, Gaeng Daeng and Pad Cashew.

“I wanted to swing by and give this restaurant special recognition on behalf of the state,” Franchot said. “We have a $350 billion GDP for our economy, and 70 percent of it comes from businesses like this.

“They are the backbone of our great state,” he said. “They provide wonderful things. You provide a friendly, welcoming restaurant where families and friends come to enjoy superior service, and excellent Italian and Thai food made from the freshest ingredients that are harvested from surrounding farms and the waterways of Delmarva.”

Illiano also prepares stromboli, calzones, house salads from his family recipes. Locals favorites on the menu include, crabby taters, hurricane fries and seasonal soups.

“Thank you for coming here today,” Illiano said. “We have a great group of customers, and enjoy serving a variety of dishes from all over the world. We appreciate the support.”

ThaiTalian is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays. Illiano runs the restaurant with his wife Phacharin and daughter Isabella. For a complete menu, visit
