Comptroller Releases Tax Scofflaw List
Two county individuals and one local business made the state comptroller’s list of the top 50 tax scofflaws that owe nearly $6 million collectively in unpaid taxes.
The tax delinquents are Lawrence and Kathleen Nelson of Annapolis and CES Group, 2508 Mountain Road, Pasadena. The scofflaws were named as part of the comptroller’s “Caught in the Web” program.
CES Group owes nearly $161,000, and the Nelsons owe more than $96,000, according to information released from the state Comptroller’s Office.
“The vast majority of Marylanders are hardworking, honest and pay their fair share in state taxes,” said Comptroller Peter Franchot in a news release. “This program highlights those who would enjoy the benefits of living in Maryland and allow their neighbors to shoulder all the financial costs.”
Below are the top individual and business tax delinquents as provided by the comptroller's office.
