"Go Green" This St. Patrick's Day by E-filing Your Tax Return!

E-filing is the safest, fastest and easiest way to file your taxes. Not only is it environmentally friendly, but it saves the state significant money in processing costs.

 

The Comptroller's office has already seen an increase in electronically filed returns this year and would like to urge taxpayers to keep up the momentum.

 

Filing electronically is also the best way to ensure a quick refund. Taxpayers who e-file will receive their refunds within days as opposed to weeks.

 

There are several ways to file youra personal income tax returns electronically, including iFile,using computer software and or a a tax professional. Additionally, the Comptroller’s office offers a free online tax preparation system called iFile, available through the agency’s Web site, www.marylandtaxes.com. 

 

Free Maryland income tax assistance is also available in person by contacting any 12 locations across the state, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
